i used to campaign for this fabulous organization in nyc called arts to grow. it’s a non-profit that provides inner city kids in nyc and jersey with art programs after-school, in areas that arts education budgets have been cut. they do loads of great work with schools and community houses to get kids involved with really cool projects like music with found objects, writing their own plays, mask making, hip-hop dance, mural painting, and much more.
arts to grow runs on campaigners, designers, event co-coordinators, pr people and other skills-based volunteers offering pro-bono services. if you’d like to volunteer your skills on your own time just get in touch with mallory, she started this organization and of course she is fabulous. her info is on the website.
